HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE BANK VERIFICATION NUMBER OUTSIDE NIGERIA.
BVN Nigeria Diaspora: In conjunction with Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc (NIBSS), VFS Global Services has launched a BVN enrolment service to various centers in Nigeria for Nigerian Bank Account Holders to enroll for Bank Verification Number (BVN). This ensures that banking transactions are simple and secure in Nigeria.
Bank Verification Number (BVN) was proposed and launched by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to secure customer transactions and improve people’s faith in the Nigerian banking sector.
NOTE: BVN enrollment in other countries outside Nigeria ends on January 31, 2016. This is the BVN Nigeria diaspora deadline date.

If you want to register for the BVN in other countries, log on to oisservices.com to book an appointment and visit any of the locations posted above with the following items:
BVN Nigeria Abroad Requirements
– A valid identification like your Current International Passport, Driver’s License, or National ID Card.
– Your Account Name and Account Number
– A recent passport photograph
– Enrolment fee (this is not stable but is based on the location of the BVN centers).
THE OBJECTIVES OF BANK VERIFICATION NUMBER
The main aim of the BVN project is to utilize biometrics information to identify and verify all the account(s) holders in all banks in Nigeria and authenticate the customer’s identity when processing transactions.
- To ensure Bank Customers have a unique and uniform identity.
- To transact with the use of biometric features and PIN without the card
- To identify customers that have been blocked.
Bank Verification Number Nigeria Deadline
All Bank customers in Nigeria must get their BVN before October 31, 2015.
